One word: Excellent. 4 Stars.
Superman as a kid was one of my favourite movie characters, I remember watching Christopher Reeve in all 3 episodes on video at my Nan’s place. I’m sure I watched each one until they wouldn’t play any more. So I guess I went in to this movie with some pretty high expectations… how would this stack up? Well I was pleasantly suprised. Newcomer Brandon Routh had some big shoes to fill, and did so with honours. Many of Christopher’s mannerisms have shown through with Brandon’s take on the superman character, making me instantly comfortable that this was still the same superman, and that clark kent is still a loveable dork. Many moments are uncanny in their similarities to Christopher reeves.
Now who could play lex luther? Who could be twisted and complex enough to play the infamous evil doer Lex? Who better than Kevin Spacey, he was brillant. I think Lex has sometimes been overplayed, but Kevin nailed it to a tee. The new superman has some new suprises, lots of great action, but also some more complex drama and story than we’ve seen perhaps in eariler episodes. I think as superman matures and so does his audience, so also does the movie franchise. I certainly recommend you go and see this one at the movies, worth the $13.
Hmm. Would love to see this. Might have to wait until I’m back in London though, to avoid the subtitles.

Superman was awesome. I can’t remember the original movies. I actually probably haven’t seen them. Brandon Routh played the role really well.
I didn’t actually have any expectations going into the movie because I just didn’t know what to expect, or even what Superman can do hehe.
